The short version

Purgy is a local macOS application. It does not create an account, does not phone home, and does not send anything it scans anywhere. It works with the network turned off.

What the app collects

Nothing. Purgy has no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting service and no usage tracking. The list of files it finds on your Mac is built in memory, shown to you, and discarded — it is never transmitted and never written to a remote server.

The only network requests Purgy can make are:

  • License activation. When you enter a license key, the key is sent to our payment provider to verify it. This happens once per Mac, and only if you buy.
  • Update checks. If enabled in Settings, Purgy asks a static file whether a newer version exists. You can turn this off, and no identifying information is included.

Both can be avoided entirely: Purgy scans without a license and without an internet connection.

What this website collects

This site is static and is served by Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics script, embeds no third-party trackers and shows no advertising. Cloudflare keeps standard server logs (IP address, request time, user agent) for security and abuse prevention, as any web host does. We do not have access to a per-visitor view of them.

Fonts are self-hosted, so loading a page here does not make a request to Google or any other third party.

Payments

Purchases are handled by our payment provider, who acts as merchant of record. They receive your email address and billing details in order to process the payment and send your license key. We never see or store your card details. Their privacy policy governs that data.

Email

If you email support, we keep the thread so we can help. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not sell or share your address.

Your data on your Mac

Purgy asks for Full Disk Access so it can measure folders macOS otherwise hides. That permission is granted by you in System Settings and can be revoked there at any time. Purgy keeps working on whatever it can still see. Folders you add to the protected list are not scanned at all.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
